In these economically turbulent times, countless numbers of people are turning to precious metals like gold and silver as a sort of potential hedge against uncertainty and the possibility of rampant inflation amongst fiat currencies. Perhaps you are one of those people who "get it". And perhaps while on your journey to find someone to work with when it comes to precious metals, you came across a company by the name of Asset Strategies International.
So, who is Asset Strategies International? How can they help you? How is their support? Are they worthy of your business?
Before diving in, it should be said that you are strongly encouraged to "do your own homework" by doing your own due diligence about any company you are thinking about working with.
With that said, let's jump in and have a look, shall we?
Name: Asset Strategies International
Category: Precious metals
Website: assetstrategies.com
Price: depends
According to BBB they do not appear to be an "accredited" business. They also appear to have a rating of just two stars out of five, but this is based on only one review, so it might not give a fair picture. Despite having a two star rating, there does not appear to be any "complaints" mentioned by BBB.
As there does not appear to be more reviews listed on BBB, you should probably take that one 2 star review with a pinch of salt. However, in the spirit of full disclosure, here is a blurb from that particular review, which was submitted by a reviewer who goes by the name "Jack":
"Burn your money for better satisfaction. "AFTER" my payment cleared it took 21 days to receive my silver order. Then got three Canadian quarters. No one said anything about Canadian. As you may know they weigh less than US silver quarters." - Jack
At any rate, here is a quote from their "about" page on their website:
"Asset Strategies International, a Rockville Maryland company, founded in 1982, is an innovator in alternative asset ownership, including precious metals, foreign currencies, pre-1933 U.S. gold coins, and global asset protection. ASI's mission that you "Keep What's Yours" is accomplished through carefully designed wealth strategies accessible to all."
Products offered:
From the looks of their website, it looks like they offer a variety of precious metal products, including but not limited to gold products, silver products, palladium products, and even platinum products. Everything from 1 kilogram bars to philharmonics to numismatics and almost everything in between.
Pros and Cons:
First, here are some pros:
Well for one, they seem to have a well-built and easy to navigate website, as well as a clearly listed phone number that you can call if you have any questions to run past them. Having the ability to have your metals stored in multiple locations like Zurich and Singapore probably doesn't hurt either.
As mentioned earlier, they also offer a wide variety of products, from gold bars to silver coins to palladium bars and almost everything in between.
On the other hand, the cons:
First and foremost, that two star review that was left by Jack on BBB seems like it might be a reddish flag. Waiting twenty one days to receive your delivery could be a deal breaker for some of you. If you're running on a tight schedule and simply cannot risk waiting three weeks to get your delivery, you might want to look elsewhere, if you believe that the review written by "Jack" is accurate. That said, it was left in 2018, so their delivery times might be way faster in 2020. It's a bit hard to say due to the lack of other reviews on BBB.
Is it a scam or not?
It would probably be a bit hard to say for certain whether ASI is clearly a scam or not. They seem to have an easy to use website and a clearly listed phone number. It's just that the review left by "Jack" does not seem to give you the most comfort, especially if you have a time-sensitive order in mind.
Asset Strategies International seems like a legit company, but, as always, you need to do your own research. It is important to do your own due diligence before making any decisions on who you should work with when it comes to precious metals, especially gold and silver.
Are there better options available?
If you are looking to diversify or just simply top off your current stack, Goldco might be a great choice for you. They are a trusted and experienced full-service precious metals firm. They specialize in taking care of gold and silver IRAs. Their “bread and butter” is gold and silver. They know how to “walk the talk and talk the talk” when it comes to precious metals. They are no nonsense people. Who doesn’t like that?
Final Words
No precious metals company is ever gonna be perfect. Each one offer a different approach to things. One might be a better fit for you than another. They might do the same thing, just a little differently. Oftentimes, it's just be a matter of which one fits you better. Everyone is different - there is no "one size fits all". Each situation is different and should be treated as such.
That said, Goldco seems to be a great choice. You can check out a detailed review of them by going over here: goldco review.
