Acadiana Gold Exchange Review. (Are they legit?) (2020)

June 15, 2020

If you are looking to get into precious metals, especially gold and silver, you are probably well aware of the economic quagmire that seems to have been "in the works" since about 2008 or so. People are weirded out. And they probably should be.

The question is, who should you work with in getting your metals?

Have you heard about a company called "Acadiana Gold Exchange" but weren't sure who they were or if they were even legit? Well, then you have come to the right place.

In this Acadiana Gold Exchange review, you are going to be able to take a gander "behind the curtain" at their pros and cons.

So who or what is Acadiana Gold Exchange? Can they give you a hand? Are they a scam? Lets dive in and have a look, shall we?

Name: Acadiana Gold

Category: precious metals

Website: acadianagold.com

Price: varies

According to the BBB, they have have A plus rating and have been in business for nine years.

So far so good.

Products offered:

At first glance, it would appear they offers various bullion products. However, upon a further look, it seems they either are no longer able ot offer bullion products, at least in Louisana? Here is a quote from their website:

"*Due to the new sales tax on precious metals in Louisiana we no longer sell precious metal bullion products as of April 1st."

It seems a bit unclear whether or not this would apply only to Louisanans. You might have to reach out to them if you would like further clarification on whether or not it would be possible for those not in Louisana.

Do they buy anything?

According to their website, it sounds like they do buy certain items:

At Acadiana Gold Exchange, we pride ourselves on having a vast selection of items from gold and silver bullion and coins, to fine and collectible art, to fine jewelry and more. We like to think that we are a little different from other gold exchange companies in that we offer professional, discreet and private service."

They have a rating of 3.8 out of five on Google reviews. That said, many of the reviews seem to be coming in from those who have sold items to them. There doesn't seem to be the most reviews on there from whose who have bought from them, so if you are looking to buy, you might want to make sure to check if the reviews you are looking at are from buyer or just sellers.

They are listed on Yelp it seems but it looks like no one has left a review for them on there, at least not yet.

According to the review site Birsdeye.com, they have a 4.1 out of five based on the twenty or so reviews they cited.

Here are some pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Their website seems quite well-built
  • A plus rating from the BBB
  • Also buys precious metal products like rings

Cons:

  • It sounds like they might not be able to offer "precious metal bullion products" any longer, at least in Louisana.

Is it a scam?

It does not seem like Acadiana is a scam. However, if you are looking to get precious metal bullion products, it is probably not the place for you, at least according to what it says on their site. If you are looking to sell things like rings for scrap value, then it might be just what you are looking for. Acadiana seems like they should be okay, but as always, you should always do your own due diligence.

Are there better options for bullion buyers?
