What is Bullion Direct?

Bullion Direct (not to be confused with Direct Bullion) was an online dealer of precious metals that also facilitated their trading, clearing, sales and validation.

It was founded in 1999 and launched its website in May 2000. The site provided investors a platform where they could place and track their precious metals in real-time.

The software side of the company was managed by Nucleo Development.

However, on July 20, 2015, the company closed after filing a bankruptcy petition. If you visit its website, you can see this notification in the main page.

"On July 20, 2015, BullionDirect, Inc. filed a bankruptcy petition, Chapter 11 No. 15-10940 in the U. S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas, Austin Division Additional notices will appear on their site regarding hearings, deadlines, filing proofs of claim and other such matters. PDF Notice"

Bullion Direct Products

Bullion Direct offered gold, silver, platinum and palladium bullion coins and bars.

Furthermore, they based their prices on real-time market fluctuations and were available 24/7 in the website's product catalog.

Some of the products included American Gold Eagle 1 oz, Australian Kangaroo 1 oz 2014, American Gold Eagle ¼ oz 2014, Austrian Gold Philharmonic 1/10 oz and many more.

Bullion Direct Ratings and Reviews

Before Bullion Direct filed for bankruptcy, it received an F rating in BBB with 177 complaints.

However, if you check its BBB profile now, it is listed as Not Rated and the complaints and reviews are already removed.

It is the same thing with its BCA profile. Lastly, it has 1 report in Ripoff Report.

Conclusion

Bullion Direct was doing good at first. It was founded in 1999 and survived all through the years, until 2015.

It received a bunch of complaints from its clients and eventually, filed for bankruptcy. But do not worry. There are still other precious metal companies out there where you can get your products.
