Americash Coins Review: Are they trustworthy? (June 2020)

June 22, 2020

By now it should come as no surprise that the worldwide economy is in freefall. This has seemed to wake up quite a few people to the reality of not being able to trust a system that is largely based on nothing more than "smoke and mirrors". As a result, countless people are running for the exits out of the stock market and into safe havens like precious metals, particularly gold and silver.

Perhaps while on your search for a precious ematls company to work with, you ran across a company by the name of Americash Coins. But who are they really? Are they honest? Can they be trusted? Do they really care about their clients? How is their support?

Before beginning, the following needs to be said: you MUST do your own homework by performing your own due diligence before choosing to work with anyone, especially when it involves precious metals such as gold and silver. Scams abound. You need to be careful. Please do all necessary research before pulling the trigger to work with a particular precious metals firm.

With that said, let's take a dive in and see if Americash Coins is worth their salt, shall we?

Name: Americash Coins

Category: precious metals

Website: topcashbuyer.com

Price: varies

According to their BBB listing, they have been in business for 29 years and have an A Plus rating. However, it appears they only have one review on BBB - and that particular reviewer gave them one star out of five. Not exactly the most reassuring point, is it?

In the spirit of full disclosure, here is a quote of the one star review left on BBB (it was written by someone who goes by the name "Ben D":

"I purchased a Rolex watch from this company in May of 2015. It wasn't as though it was a discounted item. I paid over $7600 for it. I took the watch into the Dallas Rolex Service center on December 18th 2019 to have it serviced only to find out the the watch had been reported STOLEN! I would have NEVER known the watch was stolen had I not taken it in for service! Rolex confiscated the watch immediately. I am getting a complete runaround from an employee named Bryan. I just simply want my money refunded. State Farm Insurance paid out the original owners claim, and now State Farm is making claim to the watch. THIS IS NOT A TRUSTWORTHY RETAILER! STEAR CLEAR at ALL COSTS! They are obviously selling STOLEN PROPERTY and are NOT willing to make it right with their customer." - Ben D.

If this review is actually true, it is a bit alarming. Obviously, one would like to believe that they did not know it was stolen, but did they not do their own due diligence before buying it? Even if that is true, it sounds like they gave "Ben" quite a hard time in getting things sorted out.

It would be great if there was another review left on BBB to compare to, but unfortunately that seems to be the only review left there.

Products Offered:

  • Bullion Bars
  • Bullion Coins
  • Numismatic coins
  • etc.

Here is a little blurb from their website:

"Our success is built on these two principles: One, pay the highest cash price; and two, treat every client with the utmost respect. Visit our showroom today and find out why private individuals, jewelers, coin dealers, and attorneys travel from the surrounding five states to sell us their valuables. Experience what customers from Naperville and Oak Park are talking about by visiting our showroom. We also have a store in Las Vegas, NV."

From the sounds of it, it does not seem the most clear whether or not you can buy from them if you are not located in one of the five or so states in the region. A "online order" page still remains to be seen.

Here are some "Pros and Cons"

Pros:

  • A plus rating from the BBB
  • They have been in business for 28 years

Cons:

  • If that BBB review is accurate, it sounds like you might be in for quite the ride.
  • There does not appear to be a way to browse their inventory unless you visit one of their physical locations

Is it a scam?

It would be pretty hard to say whether Americash Coins is a scam or not. The website seems credible but there does not seem to be a way to order online or view their inventory from the world wide web. That one star review on BBB does leave a bit of a question mark in the head though.

Americash Coins seems like a real company, but, as always, you should do your own due diligence before choosing anyone to work with.
