Welcome to this Goldline Review!
Last Updated: September 2022
As the world economy of 2022 continues to look more and more dodgy, quite a number of individuals seem to be waking up to the idea that their "financial future"might not be as stable as they previously thought...
As a result, countless people are looking to pivot into precious metals like gold and silver. Perhaps you are one of those people. And perhaps while on your search for someone to work with, you came across a company by the name of Goldline.
So who (or what) is Goldline? Are they legit or just another scam? How's their support? Are they the right fit for you?
WARNING:
Before beginning, it needs to be said that you are strongly encouraged to do your own research on any company you choose to work with before making any decisions. You need to do your own due diligence! You are responsible for your own decisions. Make sure to read every review closely before making a decision on whom you should work with, especially when it comes to precious metals. Do not rely on just one review or just one "review" website.
Let's dive in and have a look, shall we?
Introduction
Name: Goldline
Category: precious metals
Website: Goldline.com
Price: varies
Goldline is a precious metals dealer located in Southern California. They offer independent secure storage and direct insured delivery of all sorts of different kinds of precious metals.
Here's a blurb from their website:
"Goldline has been America’s trusted dealer for precious metals since 1960. Goldline has delivered billions of dollars’ worth of precious metals to its clients."
Products Offered:
From the look of their site, it looks like they offer the following types of products:
- Gold
- Silver
- Platinum
- Palladium
- Exclusive coins
How are their reviews? (Sept 2022 Update!)
Well, according to the BBB, they have an A+ rating and have been in business for 60 years.
They have also been accredited by the BBB since January 26, 2015.
That said, as of 12/21/20, they have received just a 1.64 out of five rating based on 11 customer reviews
SEPTEMBER 2022 UPDATE: their rating has dropped even further to a lousy 1.25 out of 5 based on 12 reviews:
Yikes! Would you do business with a company with ratings like that?
This guy wouldn't...
They also appear to have received 11 12 complaints according to their BBB page. The most recent complaint was left on March 23, 2020 September 30, 2021. It appears to have been responded to by Goldline, so that seems to be a promising sign that their support is actually a thing. However, it appears that Goldline did not respond to the complaint left on September 30 until October 8! Wow! Guess it would be up to you whether or not you think a response time of EIGHT days is acceptable. Just use your best judgement on that one...
What about other 3rd party review sites?
Well, there seem to be quite a few reviews left on the third party review site known as TrustPilot.
SEPTEMBER 2022 UPDATE: As of September 27, 2022, there appears to be over 5,500 reviews 7,217 reviews left on this site. 92% of the reviews left there rated Goldline as "Excellent". They even have an average score of 4.8 out of 5:
But why is there such an apparent discrepancy between the vast amount of positive reviews left on Trustpilot and the POOR reviews left on their BBB profile? Seems fishy, no?
Additionally, another 3rd party review site, TrustLink, gives them barely 2 out of 5 as a rating. This rating appears to be the average of 49 reviews that were left on that site...
Here is a quote from what appears to be the most recent review left on TrustLink, posted on April 9, 2020:
"In November of 2012, I bought a bunch of tenth-ounce gold coins from Goldline. I was told that I could expect to pay more for the smaller coins than for the single one-ounce coins. The difference was $700/oz. I was told that when I sold them back, I could expect to receive more money for each of the coins because they were tenth-ounce ones. I called today (4/9/20) and found out that I would only receive one-tenth of the one-ounce price. Gold would have to go over my buying price by $700/oz. for me to break even. If you are buying precious metals, be careful who you buy from. I won't be using Goldline anymore. My stockbroker will be getting a lot more of my money in the future." - Randy A.
Not exactly the most comforting thing you have probably read all day, now is it?
How is their support?
From the looks of their site, it looks like they provide "live chat" support, which is kind of a nice touch, considering how few other similiar sites offer such a thing. They also have a clearly listed phone number on the top of their website's homepage, if you prefer to chit chat on the ole telephone.
Pros and Cons:
When it comes to Goldline, there seems to be a handful of "pros and cons". Here are a fair number of them...
Pros:
- Easy to navigate website
- Clearly list phone number on their homepage
- "Live chat" support is nice little touch
- They've been around for 60 years
Cons:
- 11 complaints listed on their BBB page
- 2.3 out of 5 stars according to review site TrustLink
Is it a scam?
So, is Goldline just another scam?
Absolutely not. They seem to be a legit company. It does not seem even remotely possible that they could be a scam if they have managed to stay in business as long as they have (approximately 60 years).
They have a clearly listed phone number on their home page and even offer a "live chat" feature for those who do not prefer chit chatting on the phone.
Goldline certainly seems like a legit company, but, as always, you need to do your own homework before moving forward with any decison. It is important to do your own due diligence and perform enough research before making any decisions on who you should or should not work with, especially when it comes to precious metals and the like.

Final words
No precious metals company is gonna be "picture perfect". Each one can offer a different approach. One might be a better fit for you than another. There is no "one size fits all" answer for everyone. Each situation is different and should be treated as such.
