What is Capital Gold Group?
Capital Gold Group is a gold investment company that was founded by Jonathan Rose in 2000 and became online in 2003. It provides precious metals for investors to purchase.
It is headquartered in Woodland Hills, California. As for its website, before it was in https://www.capitalgoldgroup.com. However, if we visit it, there's nothing. According to BBB and LinkedIn, Capital Gold Group's website is in https://www.goldira.com/
Moreover, I have discovered in another review, that Capital Gold Group announced bankruptcy in 2019. People have complained how Capital Gold Group ran away with their money and investments, saying that the company is bankrupt.
Knowing this and its new website, I can say that Capital Gold Group re-branded into Gold IRA.
Capital Gold Group Products and Services
Capital Gold Group offers various precious metals in forms of bars and coins. It has gold, silver, platinum and palladium. There are also IRA-approved metals.
It also offers IRA services, however, it is not a custodian. So to help its clients, Capital Gold Group has IRA custodian partners that will cater to its clients' needs.
How does it work?
Capital Gold Group works pretty much the same as other precious metals dealers. The company has representatives who like to consider themselves as gold specialists.
Once you have contacted Capital Gold Group, these specialists will assist you with your endeavors. Since the only website we have is for Gold IRA, you can start your account there online.
Prices and Fees
Unfortunately, Capital Gold Group did not reveal any prices and fees online. The only way to find out is by contacting them.
Moreover, the IRA fees vary depending on the custodian you will be dealing with.
Ratings and Reviews
Capital Gold Group's ratings and reviews are a mixed of good and bad. But there are some that are quite alarming. Here they are:
- BBB - F rating, not BBB accredited, 5 stars based on 11 reviews
- BCA - AAA rating based on 1 review
- RipOff Report - 10 reports
- TrustPilot - 3.2 rating based on 11 reviews
- Yelp - 4.5 rating based on 10 reviews
- Trustlink - 4.5 rating based on 206 reviews
As you can see, the ones that are good ratings are only based on a few reviews. Personally, I don't find that impressive. But what's alarming is how it received an F rating in BBB. Moreover, it has 10 reports in RipOff Report.
Here are other reviews that serve as red flags.
Capital Gold Group Pros and Cons
Pros
- Offers precious metals
Cons
- Received complaints and negative reviews
- Does not directly offer IRA services
- Confusing websites
- Not BBB accredited and has an F rating
Is Capital Gold Group a scam? - Final Verdict
I don't think that Capital Gold Group is a scam since it did provide legit products and services. However, there are way too many complaints and there's the confusion about its real brand and website today.
With these concerns, I would recommend you to just try out other precious metal dealers out there that are a lot better, just like Goldco, which is my top recommendation, along with a lot of investors.
Thank you so much for reading my "What Is Capital Gold Group?" review! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section below!
The people of Capital Gold Group came to my house to pick up my gold and silver coins that I had bought from them years ago, because I wanted to convert them into bullions, but, since I didn't drive any more the long distance it took to go to their office, they offered to come, get the coins and start the process. That was the last time I saw my coins! They declared bankruptcy, and I heard they did the same thing in Las Vegas to their clients. Those people deserve to be in jail!!!
Thats sounds terrible, sorry to hear about that, thanks for leaving a review, it will definitely be helpful to other readers.
