What is ASI Precious Metals Direct?

ASI Precious Metals Direct is owned by a company that was founded in 1982, called Asset Strategies International (ASI). This company was created by co-owners Michael Checkan and the late Glen O. Kirsch and is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.

Basically, ASI is a company that revolves around alternative assets such as currency and precious metals, as well as asset protection.

Its founders believe that one of the greatest ways to protect an investor's assets and investments is through diversifying it into different products, countries and currencies.

However, in this review, we are going to focus on ASI's precious metals branch called ASI Precious Metals Direct.

Products and Services

ASI offers a wide variety of precious metals products such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

The website serves as an online platform designed to make buying and selling precious metals easier. To avail the products, head over to the website and create an account.

Moreover, the website has a complete product catalog that includes the prices of each products.

Apart from the precious metals, ASI offers other services including the following:

  • Precious Metals IRA

Ratings, Reviews and Complaints (May 2023 Update!)

Unfortunately, ASI Precious Metals Direct appears to still not have any ratings or reviews online as of May 2023. No BBB, BCA or even Trustpilot profiles.

In its Facebook profile, ASI Precious Metals Direct, received two reviews as shown below.

Although these two reviews are positive, they seem to be not genuine and just written for marketing purposes.

Nevertheless, a company that has been around for a long time not receiving any ratings or reviews is enough to put you on high alert.

This could be quite alarming to some because you would always want to choose a company that has credible ratings and reviews, would you not?

It is one way to do what you can to avoid scams.

ASI Precious Metals Direct Website 2023

One of the pre-requisites of considering a precious metals company is its website. They often market and do their services online.

In 2022, I could still access ASI Precious Metals Direct's website to gain information regarding its services.

However, in 2023, it seems that their website is not accessible. My browser gives a warning saying that my connection is private and that the website may try to steal information.

Furthermore, it is explained that the security certificate of the website expired, leading to this warning. This is unusual for a precious metals company and may be an indicator that you steer away from this.

I will keep this review updated from time to time and see if the website has changed.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Offers a wide selection of precious metals
  • Has various services

Cons

  • Website still lacks information
  • Appears to have NO online ratings or reviews
  • Website is not accessible due to safety reasons

Is ASI Precious Metals Direct a scam?

For the conclusion, there is not enough evidence to say that ASI Precious Metals Direct is a scam. Last year, its website was functional and provided information.

However, this year, it is not functional and has a warning. Moreover, it has not enough reviews and ratings to back up its reputation.

With that,  ASI Precious Metals Direct is not the best one for you. When it comes to our investments, we really need to make the best decisions and work with the best companies to ensure your security.

That is why it is not the company I would recommend. You can check out my top recommendation below.
