What is Coins Plus?

Coins Plus is a precious metals and rare coins dealer that also offers depository services. It is commonly known as "the dealer's dealer" because of its extensive selection of rare coins that they sell in high volumes.

Coins Plus offer gold, silver, platinum and palladium coins and bars in various sizes and denominations. However, its products are primarily U.S. currencies and coins, which include commemorative coins and rare coins.

Furthermore, most of its products are IRA-eligible (e.g. American Gold Buffaloes and American Gold Eagles).

Coins Plus' facility is established in Division Hill ClockTower Plaza and the company has been serving investors and collectors in the Greater Northwest, United States for over 10 years already.

Apart from their extensive product catalog, Coins Plus is a member of the following organizations:

  • Independent Coin Grading Service (ICG)
  • Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association (PNNA)
  • Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS)
  • Independent Council on Tangible Assets(ICTA)
  • Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)
  • American Numismatic Association (ANA)
  • Certified Coin Exchange (CCE)
  • CoinNet (INI)

Coins Plus' membership on these organizations says a lot about its reputation.

Coins Plus Management

Coins Plus is owned by the company's president, Kevin Wolter, who is a professional and veteran financial adviser and precious metals specialist.

Moreover, he has more than a decade of experience as an executive of Fortune 100 financial institutions. Kevin is also trained and certified by the American Numismatic Association in advanced coin grading.

Under Kevin's management and expertise in the industry, Coins Plus become one of the biggest coin dealers in the United States.

Coins Plus Products

Coins Plus offers a wide variety of gold and silver rare coins. There are also platinum and palladium items available.

The company mostly offers U.S. currency and coins. Coins Plus' website has a product catalog wherein you can check the company's products.

Some of the products included in their catalog are:

  • Gold American Eagle Coins
  • Gold US Saint-Gaudens $20
  • Gold Canadian Maple Leaf Coins
  • Silver 1-ozt .999-Fine Rounds
  • Silver 100-ozt .999-Fine Bars
  • U.S. Copper-Half Cents & Large Cents
  • Platinum American Eagles

There are still a lot of products listed in the website. For those of you wondering, yes, they also offer IRA-eligible precious metals.

HOWEVER, when I checked the availability of the products, most of them are out of stock. So if you are interested in availing Coins Plus products, you can try contacting them and confirm if they have any products available.

How to buy from Coins Plus?

Since Coins Plus' website allows its clients to order online, you can make an account there where you can add products to your cart and proceed to the payment.

It is pretty much similar to the common e-commerce websites we have out there.

However, there is lack of information regarding the buying process. My best bet is to just order online or you can give them a call.

Selling to Coins Plus

Apart from buying precious metals and coins, you can also sell to Coins Plus. Currently, they are accepting jewelry, scrap gold, silver, gold, coins and currency, platinum and palladium.

You only need to contact Coins Plus to notify them that you would like to sell precious metals or coins to them. Or you can also visit their facility.

The prices may vary depending on the market. However, the website has a page in which you can check the current sale price of various coins and precious metals.

Unfortunately, there are also not much information about the process. Your best bet is to just give contact them.

Safe Depository Service

Other than its precious metals and coins, Coins Plus also speaks highly of its state-of-the-art safe depository service.

They guarantee to provide the best and most secure depository services to its clients. Based on the website, you only need to fill up a form to avail this service.

Moreover, the prices vary depending on the size of the deposit box. Below, you can see the costs.

Shipping and Payment Methods

Usually, precious metal companies disclose information on their payment methods and shipping process on their websites.

This is to make sure that clients are aware of the processes and the whereabouts of their orders.

But, Coins Plus failed to put this on their website. Clients may only know when they contact the company.

Does it offer IRA services?

Currently, Coins Plus does not offer any IRA services, nor is it partnered with IRA custodians.

If you wish to open an IRA account, you can check out Goldco, which is the leading precious metals IRA company today.

Coins Plus Ratings and Reviews

Here in Your Gold IRA Guide, we always give importance to a company's ratings and reviews. These give us an idea or a perspective of past clients towards the services and products of the company.

The higher the ratings and more positive reviews, the better. This also mirrors the reputation of the companies.

With that being said, at the time of writing this Coins Plus Review, I found the following online ratings and reviews of the company.

  • BBB - 4 out of 5 rating, A+ rating, BBB accredited, based on 4 reviews
  • BCA - AA rating, no reviews and complaints
  • Yellowpages - 5/5 rating based on 14 reviews
  • Yelp - 3.5/5 rating based on 14 reviews

Although Coins Plus has high ratings, it only has a few number of reviews. Moreover the ratings are based on these few reviews.

Compared to other companies like Goldco, Coins Plus fall short on this.

Coins Plus Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Wide range of products
  • Expert staff and owner
  • Good online ratings and reviews
  • Can order online
  • Offers good safe depository services
  • Member of several numismatic organizations

Cons

  • Lacks reviews from review sites
  • No IRA services
  • Website lacks information
  • Most products are out of stock

Is Coins Plus a scam?

To conclude this Coins Plus Review, let me give my answer on this question.

Coins Plus is not a scam. It is a legitimate and genuine rare coins dealer with good services and products.

Moreover, its staff and the owner are all experts in the industry. Coins Plus garnered good ratings online, but still lack reviews from other review sites.

Although the company is good, it still has a lot to cover to be able to compete against the industry's top and leading precious metals companies.
