What is Northwest Territorial Mint?

Northwest Territorial Mint Review

Northwest Territorial Mint is a privately owned company that has been in operation since 1980's. It was originally established to manufacture custom medallions for government agencies or private individuals.

It wasn't long that the company then began to produce and deal its own line of Gold and Silver bullion coins, which quickly became popular among investors and collectors. They have been known as one of the major private mints in America.

Aside from being featured in publications such as The New York Times and Forbes, they have also received awards like the Numismatic News "Best of the Best" award for their Silver Bullets and the American Coin Awards "Best of the Best" award for their Dubloons.

In 2016, NWTM filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy was filed after the company's founder and CEO, Dennis Hansen, was accused of fraud. Hansen was indicted on federal charges in 2018, and he was sentenced to prison in 2020.

Currently, Northwest Territorial Mint is owned by Ranger Industries, owned by Gene D. Frink, after purchasing the company. Frink has since rebranded the company as Ranger Mint, and it continues to produce custom medals and medallions, as well as silver and gold bullion coins.

Northwest Territorial Mint - Ranger Mint Management

As said earlier, Northwest Territorial Mint has filed for bankruptcy and has been out of business since 2016. Dennis Hansen, then founder and CEO was sentenced to prison, causing the company to be sold to a new owner.

The new company is rebranded as Ranger Mint. The new company is still in business today, and is still offering much the same original products and services.

The following are the executive team that make up Ranger Industries LLC:

  • Gene D. Frink - Founder and CEO
  • Mike Frink - Vice President of Sales
  • Troy Frink - Vice President of Operations
  • Diane Frink - Chief Financial Officer
  • John Frink - Director of Marketing

Much like how Northwest Territorial Mint started, Ranger Industries is a privately-owned company that began by making quality and affordable custom challenge coins for the U.S. Military, Federal and State Governments.

Ranger Mint Products and Services

Since Northwest Territorial Mint has been bought by Ranger Industries and rebranded as Ranger Mint, we are going to use the new company name going on with this article.

Ranger Mint LLC Ratings and Reviews

When I review precious metals firms, dealers and companies, I always make sure to include their ratings, reviews and complaints to have a better perspective of how legit they are.

Below are the ratings and reviews of Ranger Mint LLC from various experts and governing sanctions:

  • BBB - No ratings and reviews, not BBB accredited
  • BCA - B rating, 1/5 rating based on 1 review
  • Ripoff Report -  2.2/5 rating, 27 reports
  • Yelp - 2.5/5 rating based on 50 reviews

As you can see, they have very poor ratings. The former company Northwest Territory Mint getting caught in a fraudulent case may have played a part in this.

It could also be that because Ranger Mint LLC has just newly bought the firm, they are still not yet that popular among investors. This is a very small sample to base our verdict whether they are really good or bad.

Ranger Mint LLC Pros and Cons

  • Been in business for a long time
  • Good products and services
  • Can order online

  • No IRA services
  • Lacks ratings and reviews
  • Has reports and complaints in Ripoff Report
  • No rating and reviews in BBB
  • Not BBB accredited

Is Ranger Mint LLC A Scam?

To conclude this Northwest Territorial Mint Review, let me answer this question and give my final verdict.

Northwest Territorial Mint is a legit company with good products and services. Even though it is now under in a new management, Range Coins, it still has a good reputation.

The fraudulent cases that the previous CEO and founder Dennis Hansen was caught with, shouldn't affect the business that Gene Frink is conducting right now.

Truthfully be said, the new management is trying its best to make the acquisition known to investors. They have been putting prompts in their website that Northwest Territorial Mint is under a new owner.

However, it lacks ratings and reviews and has complaints in various websites. If you truly wish to deal with the best company in the industry, then check out my top recommendation below.
