What is US Money Reserve?

US Money Reserve is a self-directed company that deals with gold and other precious metals that was founded in 2001.

The CEO of the company is Angela Koch, who is the first and only female CEO in the precious metals industry - she was even featured in Forbes.

The president of the company, Philip N. Diehl, used to be a director of the US Mint.


Be aware that US Mint is NOT BBB accredited. It seems like they have a similar website called American Mint, but this website seems to be a scam because I have read a lot of negative comments about it.

Does this mean US Money Reserve is a scam?
Probably not, but it's definitely a red flag!

US Money Reserve claims to offer its clients a buyback guarantee, and they also refund coins within 30 days from the initial purchase.

They also say that they insure their shipping once a purchase is made. As such, you will need to sign for the delivery.

US Money Reserve gives away an informational kit about gold-buying for free to anyone who is interested.

US Money Reserve Gold IRAs

US Money Reserve offers gold, silver, and platinum IRAs. They can help you start a new gold IRA account or transfer your funds from your current IRA account.

If you have an existing IRA account and 401(k) or 403(k) plans, US Money Reserve gives you the option to transfer either a part or your entire investment into a gold or other precious metal IRA.

After you've set up your IRA and funded it, the company will send the products you've purchased to a secure IRS-approved depository.

What are the US Money Reserve Fees & Costs?

US Money Reserve's gold IRA account annual fee is $250. They will, however, waive the $250 worth of setup and storage fees during your first year if you make qualifying purchases.

Note that the company's gold and silver coin prices can be different depending on the latest market rates.

US Money Reserve Payment Methods

US Money Reserve accepts various kinds of payment methods. For online orders from the US and Canada, they accept VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover as a form of payment.

Moreover, they also accept bank wires. There are different guidelines or conditions for each payment.

Credit Card

There is no minimum amount of order for credit card payments. However, there is a maximum of $10,000 worth of orders that you can pay via credit card to prevent scams and frauds.

If your orders amount to more than $10,000, you just need to contact the company to arrange your payment securely.

Bank Wire

The company only accepts bank wire as a form of payment for orders with a minimum of $1,000. Furthermore, there are no dollar limits for this payment.

US Money Reserve will send you wiring instructions to proceed to your payment. Moreover, take note that the bank wire must be received by the company within 1 business day since the placement of your order.

If you wish to pay via personal check, you just need to contact US Money Reserve.

US Money Reserve Shipping

US Money Reserve usually ship their products via US Postal Service or UPS. The US Postal Service can ship to a P.O. Box. However, UPS can only ship to physical addresses.

The shipping method may vary depending on your orders. Moreover, all orders are fully insured and they all require a signature the moment they are delivered.

Do you accept cryptocurrencies?

Yes. US Money Reserve uses Bitpay in processing all cryptocurrency orders. Simply contact them to arrange for this.

How fast can i receive my order?

Your order processing time begins the moment your payment is cleared by the company and when your order is prepared and shipped.

Usually, it takes 3 business days for your orders to be delivered to you.

is US Money Reserve the US Mint?

No. This is a common misconception between the two. The US Money Reserve does not have any affiliations with the US Mint or the US government.

However, the company is one of the country's biggest dealer and distributor of US precious metals and coins.

US Money Reserve Ratings and Reviews (Updated 2023)

U.S. Money Reserve Review BBB new rating May 30

Currently, US Money Reserve's BBB rating has declined to 3.82 out of 5 star rating, based on 51 reviews. Moreover, it received 6 complaints in the last 12 months.

For a company that has been in the industry for quite some time, this rating is very underwhelming.

U.S. Money Reserve Review 2023 May BCA Rating

Another rating that US Money Reserve has online is from BCA. However, it only received 7 reviews with an average of 4 out of 5 rating.

Although 4/5 is good, the sample size of the reviewers is very small, making it not that impressive if we compare it to the other precious metal companies.

Lawsuit Against US Money Reserve?

Be aware there is another red flag against US Money Reserve.
In 2011, the company had to pay $5M to its customers.


Because the US Money Reserve customers were victims of very misleading sales tactics by US Money Reserve's sales agents.

Is US Money Reserve a scam?

In conclusion, I'll reiterate that US Money Reserve is not a scam. It is a legit precious metals company run by veterans in the industry. Moreover, it offers good products and services.

Although it has good ratings and reviews, it only got these from two websites, BBB and BCA. Moreover, the company did receive an alarming number of complaints posted in BBB.

Additionally, the lawsuit I mentioned earlier is a big red flag. So, in my final opinion, it's a legit company that is NOT reliable!
